2. Categories of Data Collected
We collect only the personal data necessary to deliver our services:
- Identification & contact data: name and email address (when you write to us about a booking)
- Booking data: tour title, date, number of guests, special requirements you choose to share
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages visited (collected automatically by our analytics, if consented)
- Cookie preferences: the choices you record in our cookie banner (stored locally in your browser; see Cookie Policy)
We do not collect payment data on this website. Where payment is required (private tours), it is handled by separate invoice and is processed by our bank — we do not store card details.

4. Third-Party Sharing
We share personal data only with the following recipients, and only to the extent necessary for the stated purposes:
- Email provider (Tutanota / Fastmail): for receiving and replying to booking enquiries
- Hosting provider: for serving the website
- Analytics provider (only if you have consented): Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics service that does not use cookies for tracking
- Government and tax authorities: only as required by law
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other commercial third party.
5. International Data Transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is made under Standard Contractual Clauses or to a country covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission.
6. Retention
- Booking enquiries that did not result in a tour: deleted within 24 months of last contact
- Booking records (for completed tours): retained for 7 years for tax-record purposes, then deleted
- Analytics aggregates: retained for 24 months
- Cookie consent records (in your browser): retained until you clear them or change them
7. CCPA / California Consumer Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA:
- Right to Know what personal information we hold about you
- Right to Delete personal information we hold about you
- Right to Correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising
- Right to Limit the Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what you choose to share with us in correspondence
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not deny you our service, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of service for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@irishchronicals.com with the subject line "CCPA Request". We will respond within 45 calendar days.
8. Children's Data
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where children attend tours with their parents or guardians, we collect only the information necessary for tour logistics, provided by the responsible adult.
9. Security Measures
We use TLS encryption for all website traffic. Email correspondence is held on encrypted email infrastructure. Access to booking records is restricted to the Operator and to authorised guides for the purpose of running the relevant tour.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least 30 days following publication.
11. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Where Irish or EU law provides additional protections, those protections apply in addition.
