  2. "User" means you, the person accessing the website or attending a tour.
  3. "Operator" means Irish Chronicals, an Irish-registered sole trader at 14 Pleasants Street, Dublin 8, D08 W7H4, Ireland, contactable at info@irishchronicals.com.
  4. "Content" means the text, images, tour itineraries, written guides, audio, and any other material made available through the Service.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Service or booking a tour you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. Users under 18 may attend tours when accompanied by a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on their behalf.

The Operator provides guided walking tours, private tours, archive and library visits, and educational tours of historic sites in Dublin. Bookings are made by email enquiry and confirmed by the Operator's reply. Tour content, schedule, and meeting points are described on the website but may change without notice in response to weather, site closures, or other operational considerations.

4. User Conduct & Prohibited Uses

  1. 4.1 You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its servers.
  2. 4.2 You agree not to scrape, harvest, or systematically download Content for use in any product, dataset or service competing with the Operator.
  3. 4.3 You agree to follow the lawful instructions of the tour guide and the published rules of the sites visited (Trinity College, Dublin Castle, OPW sites, etc.).
  4. 4.4 You agree not to disrupt other guests' enjoyment of the tour, harass guides or staff, or behave in a manner that endangers yourself or others.
  5. 4.5 You agree not to record, livestream, or commercially reproduce a tour without the Operator's prior written consent.

5. Intellectual Property

All Content on the Service — including tour itineraries, written guides, photographs, and the design of the website itself — is © 2026 Irish Chronicals unless otherwise credited. You may save and print individual pages for personal, non-commercial reference. You may not republish, redistribute, or use the Content for any commercial purpose without prior written permission. Quotations and brief excerpts are permitted with attribution.

6. Termination

The Operator may at any time suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms. The Operator may at any time refuse, cancel, or curtail a tour booking — including but not limited to in cases of unsafe weather, unavailability of a guide, closure of a site, or breach of these Terms by the User. In such cases the Operator's liability is limited to a refund of fees paid for the affected tour.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WHILE THE OPERATOR EXERCISES REASONABLE CARE TO ENSURE HISTORICAL ACCURACY, NO REPRESENTATION IS MADE THAT THE CONTENT IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR FREE FROM ERROR. WALKING TOURS INVOLVE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ON UNEVEN URBAN SURFACES AND PARTICIPATION IS AT THE USER'S OWN RISK.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ATTENDANCE OF ANY TOUR SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID TO THE OPERATOR IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFIT, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

9. Changes to Terms

The Operator may update these Terms at any time. The Effective Date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Exclusive jurisdiction for any unresolved dispute lies with the state and federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
